MORE Cases, Claims and Underwriting Affairs Webinar
Unprecedented, new normal, uncertain times, uncharted territory: these terms filled discussions in 2020, even in the title insurance industry. Now is a great time to look back at a few recent cases and claims to consider how we assess underwriting risk.
We’ll touch on how courts are evaluating the latest phishing scams, and we’ll give you some practical tips on how to avoid a scam and handle a breach. And with the influx of buyers to our Sunshine State, it’s always a good time to review homestead issues by looking at a few recent Florida cases, including specific facts the courts consider when making a determination of homestead.
We’ll also brief you on the details of several claims paid out in 2020, including business email compromise, missing interests, improper recording and survey matters. Using these examples, we’ll prove it’s better to learn from the mistakes of others, rather than our own.
