You spoke, and we listened! Coming to your computer screens this October, we'll cover five of the most requested topics in our fall webinar series. We'll start our journey with Business Entities, and then travel coast to coast watching out for Claims. We're sure to encounter a few Easements during our trek, and some tricky navigation through Water Rights issues along the way. Finally, we'll tackle a few calculations with Title Insurance Premiums. We can’t wait for you to make the trip with us, Exploring Florida.

Business EntitiesYou Can Get There From Here

Business Entities

LLCs, corporations and limited partnerships are some of the most common entities we see in real estate transactions, but their inner workings can sometimes seem confusing. We’ll clear things up by explaining everything you need to know about these entities as we travel throughout small town Florida.

Presented by Dave Morgan, Underwriting Counsel

ClaimsHow Everyone Makes a Difference

Claims

Title insurance policy claims can be devastating – to the insured, to the insurer, and to the agent. Hear why the title insurance agent and insurer relationship is critical to claims reduction and resolution. Title agents’ professional and ethical responsibilities are reviewed along with corresponding claims to help title agents understand their importance to an accurate policy-issuance process.

Presented by Barbara P. Burke, PhD, Esq.

Easements Revealed

Easements Revealed

The Sunshine State: Pristine beaches, tourist mecca, rocket launches, the fountain of youth and really good orange juice. That’s how many perceive Florida. As locals, we’ll explore some hidden treasures of our beautiful state, even for those who are “true” Floridians. Along the way, we’ll reveal a few obscure concepts relating to easements, such as how easements are created, how to insure an easement benefiting the land, how to deal with an easement burdening the land, the relationship between easements and the survey and how easements can be terminated. And of course, our travels will include a few stories that will ensure our adventure is memorable.

Submerged LandsInsuring Submerged and Formerly Submerged Sovereignty Lands in Florida

Submerged Lands

No exploration of Florida would be complete without the history of State Sovereignty Lands. In this webinar, we will travel back to the British Crown Lands, then on to the Spanish Land Grants. We’ll discuss Submerged Lands before and after Florida was officially part of the USA.  Finally, we’ll cover other Common Waters Exceptions that affect Florida lands.

Presented by Al Gomez-Vidal, Regional Underwriting Counsel
