How much does it cost to be appointed as a Licensed Title Agent for an underwriter?

The fee charged by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) is $61.98 per appointment for each Licensed Title Agent and Title Licensed Agency. Each appointment must be renewed every two years. Agents are able to generate their own CPLs by using the letterTRAX feature of our agentTRAX program. If you currently use agentTRAX to create policy jackets, contact our Product Support team at
877-947-5483 or fnfflorida@fnf.com and request that letterTRAX be added to your account so you can create CPLs.

I am an FNF Agent. How do I obtain/create an Agent in Good Standing Letter?

Agents are able to generate their own Agent in Good Standing Letter by using the letterTRAX feature of our agentTRAX program.

  1. In letterTRAX, choose your state/company/address.
  2. Enter "GS" in the file number field.  This will default in the system to create a Good Standing Letter.
  3. The form type will be defaulted to "Standard CPL" but you can use the dropdown to choose the "Agent in Good Standing" option.
  4. You are able to fill in lender information to make it lender specific and once you are finished filling everything out, hit the Create button.

What is the Florida Data Call?

What is the Florida Data Call?

The Data Call is the process by which Florida DFS-licensed title agencies (Florida and non-resident agencies) and underwriters will submit information about their businesses to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR). The data will be used by the OIR to review and possibly adjust the Florida promulgated title premium rates. The Data Call will not apply to attorneys or law firms licensed by The Florida Bar (i.e. not licensed by the Florida Department of Financial Services).

Under current Florida law, data for the year 2014 must be submitted by March 31, 2015. Failure to comply by the deadline could subject you to fines, penalties or even the loss of your agency license.

The information to be submitted is comprehensive. We encourage you to review your procedures and systems and make necessary adjustments now, so that you can capture the required information from each file as you go, beginning in January 2014. You don’t want to wait until 2015 to look at the data call form and realize you have insufficient data for 2014, and have to spend hours of time (and money) to back-track months of closings to gather the required information!
